Rare Early 19thC Handmade Sailor’s Ivory & Coconut Husk Rum Ladle or “Dipper” (Scrimshaw)
In great used condition and very well made.
Comprising of a polished coconut husk, with a carved Whale or Walrus Ivory handle finished with a Mahogany tip. It measures 15” long and is very strong, the handle carving is wonderfully crude as expected and the bowl has a fabulous sheen. (Stand not included)
