Fabulous 19thC Nautical or Maritime Gilt Carved Wall Clock Compendium

This is fresh from the M&K workshop and so it is freshly serviced and keeping good time. The hand carved frame features, twin sea monsters or leviathan’s, clam shell and anchor, which retains its original gilt surface. It has some minor loses to the paint, commensurate with its age and only adds to the overall wonderful patina.

It has a French mechanical timepiece fitted with a platform escapement that ticks along nicely. The brass framed bevelled glass door opens to reveal a porcelain clock face, which has a few minor signs of wear, mainly by the winding aperture and features a Roman numeral chapter ring. Below the clock is a large brass framed aneroid barometer fitted with a half moon thermometer, both work well. Overall, it measures 19”H x 11”W and comes with a winding key.
