Large Rosewood Glazed Cased Hand Built 1:98 Scaled Model of HMS Victory & Literature.
HMS Victory is a 104-gun first-rate ship of the line of the Royal Navy. She was ordered in 1758, laid down in 1759, and launched in 1765. With 246 years of service as of 2024, she is the world's oldest naval vessel still in commission and is best known for her role as Lord Nelson's flagship at the Battle of Trafalgar on 21 October 1805.
The
model is is extremely intricate, expertly constructed (without fault) and comes with the modellers plans, research & blueprint folder. This model, in unconstructed condition, was purchased at Premiership models in 2003 at a cost of £1029.00 and is advertised as an “Expert standard Model”. Not for the faint hearted!
The pictures really do not do it any justice and it’s extremely well presented in a solid Rosewood Glazed case, which is fairly heavy. The Victory is fixed to the base and the top and main trunk of the case is removable for cleaning but that would be a two man job. It overall measures 44”L x 35”H x 16.5”D (1m10cm x 90 x 43cm)
This is truly an amazing display of the Royal Navy’s finest and most famous man of war HMS Victory!
