This fabulous Scottish scene was presented to HMS Bicester (WW2 Hunt Class destroyer) by the Officers of 35 Company RAPC Glasgow , July 1947. (Royal Army Pay Corps)

Gillespie (1908-1993) is a well known Scottish watercolour artist. His early career involved film making but decided to focus on watercolour landscape paintings after the war. From the late 1940's till his death he concentrated his career as a professional artist and is well known for his scenes of the West Coast of Scotland. This particular one I believe to be a winter scene of Ben More from Loch Tuath? It’s well presented in its original frame with a provenance verso label to the rear on a OHMS label. It has a printed presentation stamp to the mount and overall it measures 40cm x 32cm
