Absolutely Stunning French Victorian Vineyard Wall Clock (Guillot Mary á St Calais) d.1880’s
This wonderful French wall clock has been through the M&K workshop and has received a service, clean & polish. It’s in fine fettle with the odd imperfection commensurate with its age but runs smoothly, keeping good time and chiming the time every 30 minutes.
The black internally painted glass with brass & gold hand painted decoration really does look as good as the photographs, the front lifts upwards to gain access to the French V.E marked twin train mechanism, pendulum & sound coil.
When it was dismantled for cleaning, we discovered the glass clock face was padded out with folded French news paper dated 1884, which accurately dates the clock.
Overall, it measures 15.5” in diameter x 6”D and comes with a key for winding.
