Superb Freshly Framed 1930’s Signed Royal Navy HMS Rodney Pencil Drawing (Port of Spain)
This fabulous piece of naval artwork was presented in 1931 to ????? by Commander Charles Maxwell Richard Schwerdt R.N (b.1889).
Schwerdt, had quite a career spanning both wars, getting mentions in dispatches on HMS Lion at Jutland & Doggerbank and Kings Honours in 1943 whilst loaned to the Canadian Navy on HMCS Avalon & Protector.
The drawing has just been professionally framed and
retains its original verso to the rear “HMS Rodney in Trinidad B.W.I, 1931, Presented by Commdr Schwerdt R.N” and is signed the artist in 1930. (15” x 13”)
